Cook County Higher Education recognizes the deep hurt and outrage sparked by recent events and fueled by our nation’s long history of racism. We stand with all People of Color for justice and healing.

At CCHE, we understand that education is a key component to understanding and addressing racial disparity in our community and beyond. Every day, we work to ensure that education is available to everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, and physical or mental ability.

We will continue to serve and support all Cook County residents. We will continue to offer timely and relevant educational programming. We will continue to provide the tools necessary for our residents to grow, thrive and understand each other. In addition, we will examine our own policies and programming to ensure that Cook County Higher Education’s actions support the change needed to undo racism and discrimination.

Cook County Higher Education (CCHE) is a non-profit organization established in 1996 to address four critical issues facing our rural remote community: extreme isolation, skilled worker shortages, limited career advancement, and lack of higher education opportunities. With the nearest college or university over 100 miles away, CCHE makes it possible for local residents to earn a certificate, diploma, or degree that leads to living wage employment right here in our community. In the past 10 years, CCHE has expanded its offerings to include college prep, training & development, and lifelong learning opportunities.
